I knocked this together today. Some thoughts:
Stainless straps are .625" bands. Probably .015" to .018" thick. I have not worked out tensioning yet. Should be a million ways to do it and simple enough.
I don't actually think the backplate component is necessary. This structure can be built into the corset assembly.
My main goal is to keep the center of mass as close in in as possible

And nobody give me guff about the colors. They are just to differentiate the various components in CAD. I have no intention of making them these colors.
