McMaster Carr has a reasonable price on precut stainless mesh disks.

One possibiity might be to silver plate an intermediate section after a set of silver plated brass/nickel or pure silver screens and before the high temperature screens.

Good point, Ray! From what i understand copper / silver coated stainless is the best way to go. They are less spongey when compressed and better at resisting heat. Of course they need to go through the samarium treatment before they are ready to use.

I think a 2" deep catalyst pack is roughly 100 to 130 screens.

Disclaimer: I have not tested thee above linked method for plating and treating catalyst screens.
